American Journal of Recreation Therapy is the unchallenged journal of record in the field and the gold standard for providing recreational therapists the latest research, techniques and advances in the use of recreational interventions.

Guided by Editor-in-Chief, Timothy Passmore, Ed.D., CTRS/L, FDRT and an internationally recognized editorial review board, American Journal of Recreation Therapy, in a seamless flow from theory to proven application, strives with each issue to help recreational therapists make better quality of life a reality for their patients of all ages and stages of disability.

Peer Review Process

The journal features an online, double blind peer-review system.  Reviews typically take 4-6 weeks.  Manuscripts can be published in as little as 8 weeks utilizing our Continous Publishing Model.
